On October 8, 2016, the "KOURITES" Folklore Society attended vespers at the Holy Monastery of the Holy Forty Martyrs in Sparta. There, they had a cordial meeting with the abbot of the Monastery, Father Ephraim, and the monks. On the same night, a big Cretan feast was organized by KOURITES in Sparta. The Association of Cretans of Lakonia and the Association of Cretans of Argyroupoli participated presided over by Christos Lousidis, the first dancer of the second generation of KOURITES. On the following day, October 9, 2016, a Solemn Mass was held by the Metropolitan of Monemvasia and Sparta, Mr. Efstathios, and the Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Eugenios.
