In November 2016, at the invitation of the Pancretan Association of Melbourne, KOURITES traveled to distant Australia, culturally conquering the fifth continent. There, they participated in the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Arkadi holocaust. During the Society's stay in Melbourne, they offered Cretan dance lessons to the Greek children of Melbourne, the Association, and the schools. Also, cordial meetings were held with the Most Reverend Archbishop, Mr. Stylianos, of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Ms. Christina Simantiraki, and the local authorities of Melbourne. In addition, the Association was offered the icon of Saint God-crowned King Nikiforos Fokas, whose name was heard for the first time in the distant continent. The journey of KOURITES in Australia was covered on TV by ET3's show "Diaspora," with the distinguished journalist Chryssa Samou as the presenter.
