On September 9, 2006, the inauguration of the Holy Church of the Four New Martyrs of Rethymno in Sparta, in the city's Sainopouleio park, which is opposite the castle of Mystras, was held with great formality. The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Monemvasia and Sparta, Mr. Efstathios, and His Eminence, the Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Anthimos, attended the event.
